How long will it take for the LOWHEAT device to earn its purchase price?
The saving made on the utility bills by using LOWHEAT will be equal to the price of purchase and installation in 24 months.

Will the device require much attention after installation?
No. Unless the device breaks down then the device can be left to run without requiring any user input.

Will the device be suitable for all domestic and commercial applications? All types of commercial applications are suitable where sufficient amounts of low grade waste heat are produced to justify the price of purchase and installation. In new build domestic applications this can be justified, but for retrofitting the device in older buildings, the installation may be more difficult.

When will the device be available to buy?
The three year research project to design the prototype will finish in August 2007, the EC aim to bring the project to market as soon after project completion as possible.

Would I be able to install the LOWHEAT device myself?
Regulations may restrict non-qualified persons from installing certain parts of the system but with the payback period including installation costs, it is still a great way to save money and conserve energy.

When the device is installed, how difficult will it be to service/mend the device?
The LOWHEAT system is being designed to be as accessible as possible for a quick and easy service and also so that the decor in your home is relatively unaffected.

If the LOWHEAT device is out of operation, will the appliances work as normal? Yes. The LOWHEAT system will be designed so that operation of the appliances will continue as normal, but the device will warn you in most situations that it is not operating.

Will the device be suitable for any type of water heating method?
Yes, although the energy saving may vary accordingly.
